These books will allow the students to see the world through someone else view, they can see that making choices have different outcomes. My students enjoy coming into Reading class because they know it's a safe space to share. They share experiences, they voice their opinions and have opportunities to learn from each others experiences. Reading now becomes fun! The dictionary in our class is in such disarray, that it is hard to match up the pieces to find the definitions. I tell them that, "Our dictionaries look like this because the students were so excited last year that the books all broke in half." Having new dictionaries would help us with this problem.
