The items requested will help the HOPE Squad to build a student-run calming room to assist in deescalating stressful situations and providing a space for students to have conversations with HOPE Squad members. Students will be able to use the resources in the room to sit comfortably in a secure environment to have important conversations with their peers. We hope to reduce the stigma behind discussing mental health related issues and the topic of suicide by providing this safe space for the students at our school to have open discussions. This space will be a place of relaxation physically, visually and mentally.

About my class
