The materials used for this project will engage students with a new and exciting way of learning. Allowing students to engage in hands on art projects will provide them with the chance to activate areas of their brain that are not commonly used in most classrooms. The students will use the material to learn how to create functional ceramics as well as ceramic sculptures. The students will produce art work that can be showcased in local and national art exhibitions. Through this project I hope to introduce students to a new perspective of learning. Hand building is not common in contemporary classrooms but the use of these types of material will introduce students to the most useful tool we have at our disposal, our hands.
