STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) bins allow students to create and build which is something we do not have enough of in our normal school day. These bins and activities will instill creativity and critical thinking skills in a more interactive and enjoyable way. STEAM is a great way for kids to get hands-on with learning and have unstructured time and tasks to develop skills that cannot be attained through other resources. It is my goal to utilize these bins to foster future scientists, engineers, mathematicians, architects, artists, etc while providing them the materials to grow those skills. The STEAM bins will be used in a variety of different ways throughout the course of our school day. They could be incentive rewards for students who crave building and creating. We could put together challenges for the students to brainstorm projects and build structures. We could use them to get our mornings started, so that the students are using their minds to get their creative juices flowing for the day! To me, the possibilities are tremendous and the benefit of these bins are incredible for our learners!
