My students need a variety of seating options in order to create an engaging reading environment that will support their diverse needs. During independent reading time they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Currently my students are choosing to read in a variety of locations in our room such as: at different tables, sitting under tables, or sitting or laying on the floor. Making sure students are comfortable is essential in motivating them and maintaining stamina. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are comfortable while reading. My students are noticeably more engaged in reading and less disruptive of their peers when they are given a choice of where to read. The product that I have selected will help my students through providing them an additional seating option to make more effective reading choices. The FlexSpace Comfy Floor Seats have adjustable backs and are cushioned or comfort during extended reading times. They are lightweight and can be easily used in many areas of the classroom. I have seen how choice can positively affect my students' attitude towards reading and hope that the additional option will help us grow even more!
