Our school’s budget is tight, and teachers were notified that the school is out of printer paper and that we need to switch over to digital. I am all for using technology in the classroom; however, I do believe that it has its place and students learn mathematical skills better by pencil and paper. While I do use technology in the classroom and have many assignments through student’s chrome books and on google classroom, I have students practice skills through fun activities such as mazes, card sorts, task cards, scavenger hunts, and much more. All of these fun activities which get students out of their seats, eager to learn, and working together, require printed materials. I will no longer be able to do many of these activities without printer paper, which will be a disappointment to my students. The school is also out of tissues. As we all know, this is a hard time of year to go without tissues. Colds and sickness are aplenty and you can hear students sniffling and sneezing throughout the day. Without tissues, students are having to leave the classroom to go to the bathroom, which causes a disruption to their learning. I have bought some tissues for my classroom, but my supply is dwindling down and will not last much longer.
