We all know that students learn in different ways, unfortunately our classrooms don't always reflect a positive environment to allow students to produce their best work. While I cannot change the structure and expectations of the curriculum I teach, I can create an environment that addresses my students' varying needs. The addition of flexible seating will give my students the ability to learn in a seat thats helps give them the movement necessary to enhance their individual learning. As a first year teacher, I would love the opportunity to amplify my students learning by giving them the ability to get out their wiggles and get their blood moving! Students will be able to wiggle while they work while sitting on wobble and balance ball chairs. The rounded bottom of the stool allows students to activate and engage their core muscles while they sit and work and the flexible rubber balls will allow students to bounce the jitters away. This active sitting helps them focus and expend restlessness and extra energy. I know these wobble seats, balance ball chairs and other cushions will help my students focus on their work while being comfortable and getting out those wiggles!
