All of my students will greatly benefit from having a Kindle Fire 7 tablet with the OSMO Genius kit in the classroom, but my struggling students will find the much needed multi-sensory leaning they need that comes from technology connected with Osmo. The donations to this project will help my students advance in skills like science, math, visual thinking, problem solving, spelling, and creative drawing while playing Osmo. The lessons in Osmo enable the Kindle to merge the power of physical play with the digital advantages of real-time feedback. Playing beyond the screen invites my students to collaborate while manipulating tangible game pieces such as coding blocks, number tiles, and letter tiles. The educational benefits from the interactive games help strengthen my students’ classroom skills such as science, math, literacy, and social studies. I have read that using these games improves a learner's social and communication skills, as well. My students can learn to cooperatively play and work as a team. For my students with ADHD, the Osmo and Kindles will allow their focus to be enhanced so they are more on task. Therefore, using Kindles and OSMO is a great way to nurture resilience in my active learners and allow them to embrace challenges.
