I have a lot of visual learners in my classroom and I feel that those learners can use the resources in this project to help them learn through hands-on experiences. The students will be able to use the resources in math small group and station areas to better understand the material being taught to them. The double-sided magnetic fraction circles will help my students understand the difference between 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, etc. The STEAM box will be for my students who love science, math, engineering, art and technology. My hope is that through the STEAM box my students who are not that interested in STEAM will gain a better appreciation of what those subjects can offer. Some of the students in my classroom are on a lower level than where they should be in third grade. I believe their challenge comes with the fact that a lot of these children still do not have a strong grasp on spelling. I hope that with my phonics set I can improve my children's spelling through the "chunking" of words for a better understanding of how our words are put together. My students love to move around and be active, the only challenge I have with this is that it is hard to teach a lesson when you constantly hear a pencil tapping on a desk or feet hitting a desk. I hope that through this project I can get desk and chair bands to help my students be more active without distracting other children.
