My gifted students love reading, but many of the novels in their regular ed classrooms are either not challenging enough, or not of high interest to them. I have built a library with novels that are both challenging and high interest. Due to their age, many of them have fallen into disrepair. Over the last several years I have used my own money to replenish novels that were unusable. So many of our novels are in poor shape that I can't afford to do this myself anymore. Everyone knows and loves the smell of a brand new book and the multiple copies of the five different titles that I am requesting will delight my readers. Students in my reading groups will love to turn the pages of a brand new novel that isn't torn up or missing sections.
