My student teaching placement is in an amazing 4th grade room with wonderful students and an upstanding master teacher! I was able to pick the book Incommunicado by Randall Platt to do a fairly extensive book study on with the class. That being said it's important that students have the physical book, to not only read along, but also become fully immersed in the story and complete assignments that may require pulling specific information from the text. The books being requested will supply each of students with a copy of Incommunicado. Supplying each of my students with their own copy of the book will help us overcome so many obstacles, from being able to do more hands-on activities all the way to helping with comprehension. Putting a book in students' hands and transporting them to another time and place is the closest many of my students will come to exploring the world. My goal is to have each and every one of my students on a trip back in time, to the day that will forever live in infamy!
