The focus of the project is the impact of today’s choices on tomorrow’s possibilities; transferring school skills to life and work; and managing self, time, and personal resources. A real world approach is used as classroom setting designed to simulate a a workplace in a Market Economy. Students earn a paycheck to encourage and reward positive student behavior, habits, motivation, participation, and engagement in activities that build the knowledge, vocabulary, hard & soft skills, and mindset that transfer to success in the real world workplace and/or post-secondary classroom settings. TEAMWORK, COLLABORATION & COMMUNICATION build confidence and drive student success in this project. Dry Erase Boards & Flip Charts are needed for Students to explore, brainstorm, debate, organize, present, and promote ideas respectfully and professionally; as they develop and implement the policies and procedures that allow students to earn, manage, and spend class cash. These resources allow students to breakout into groups when they are challenged to solve problems or resolve conflict. We have only one large whiteboard in the room that does not allow for multiple teams to function efficiently. The self-sticking flip chart paper is ideal for Student Managers to present andd/or post final ideas and to inform / remind teams of job duties in the market place, products being featured in the class store, products out of stock, track status of class goal achievement, etc...
