Computer Technology is a wonderful asset to the classroom curriculum when students have all the necessary tools and resources and the activity is engaging and students can connect to the information presented. Long gone the days of just presenting information to students via direct instructions. With the growing implementation of the technology in every facet of a student's life, the classroom should reflect lessons and activities that engage and excite students to learn with the use of technology. While online games and activities provide enriching and engaging activities, the use of computer headphones will keep the classroom conducive to learning for all the students. Many of my students are engaged in many interactive activities throughout their normal day like streaming shows, watching and creating YouTube videos, playing games, viewing and creating vlogs and communicating via video. Students enjoy these activities and they all require picture and sound. My classroom activities are an extension of their normal activities. I create and design lessons and activities to engage students with pictures and sounds and not just direct instruction. Students complete online modules via Everfi which teaches them about becoming a responsible digital citizen and how to create, manage, market and start a food truck business. Students also learn how to code games and apps via code.org. The videos allow students to receive instruction from experts in the computer software field. Students learn about money skills they need for life via online Hands-on Banking enriching activities. Technology is great, but when students have all the necessary tools and resources it becomes an unforgettable experience.
