I teach 23 classes per week, every other week, at each school, for a total of 46 classes every two weeks. I am always looking for new curriculum and new teaching methods to keep learning fun and engaging for students as well as to reach students of all learning styles and cultural backgrounds. When you have each student only 30 minutes every two weeks, you have to make your time with them count! As a Nationally Board Certified School Counselor, I strive to reach all my students. Because of the short amount of time for each class, there is no time to waste. My lessons need to be powerful and to the point. When I attend conferences, I tend to focus on the breakout sessions that offer ideas I can bring back to school and immediately implement. I have very little planning time and the more resources I have to support my guidance program, the more my students benefit.
