There are multiple ways individuals learn, and one of my biggest goals is to vary my teaching approaches to reach every learner in the way they learn best. As an ELA teacher, a document camera will allow me to model explicitly the ways to create coherent written responses as students watch as I go through the writing process with them, including making errors and mistakes. It will also enable students to display their work, as some students learn best from teaching and watching each other. A document camera can support me as I teach reading using specific strategies for what do with unfamiliar words or phrases as students watch how I, or other students, navigate through challenging texts. Learning isn't a simple process of exchanging information, to retain such information one must be actively involved and an experience should be created and with a document camera my students will actively engage in the learning process. The camera will give every individual an opportunity in my classroom to teach and learn from one another. As the rolling cart will also serve as a resource for me to store papers and materials needed for daily lessons in an organized manner.
