These Apple Pencils will revolutionize the way in which all my students learn. If you had 100,000 dollars when you were 10 years old vs. having 100,000 dollars when you are 65. It is the same amount of money. However, if the 10 year old had that money grow at 3% a year it would be ~500,000 dollars. Time is the valuable factor in growing money. Imagine what students could do if the currency that is being grown was not money, but their intelligence. I already know the colossal impact the Apple Pencil will make on compounding student's intelligence. Imagine 7th graders who can finish an entire curriculum in half the year. This will allow my students to have half a year to learn what they are passionate about woven into their curriculum. Allowing students to learn about their passions and complete genuine projects. Using the 3D printer to help redesign objects they find less effective. Using the Robotics to create motorized chairs for handicapped individuals. Using the pencil to create digital schematics for the robotics designs. Using the pencils to work in groups of 40 across 10 classes to build these projects and leave detailed notes inside of videos that they create and draw on (like a football annotation). Giving my students Apple Pencils will be almost un-measurable for the impact it will have on their education. These kids will be making waves in our diverse and dynamic world and I have not seen anywhere Middle School Students with 1:1 iPads who have Apple Pencils due to their cost. But is $100 per pencil really not worth the amount of time that is saved?! Time is money and I want to give my students months of time back so they can make a genuine change in this world.
