Students are learning how to work together for the first time. Children will learn about water recycling, composting our snacks to fertilize our plants. Students will learn concepts including the basic needs of live and the life cycle of the plant. Students will grow simple vegetables, herbs, root vegetables, and flowers. Children will work with high school students to create healthy kid friendly foods to eat during preschool. This project will be coordinating various resources, including the high school career technology building trade students to make the shelves; high school career technology electrical students to install a heater, the high school career technology culinary students to make the food and the high school career technology early childhood students to organize and coordinate all resources. Children will focus on recycling and reducing in order to preserve the planet. We will collect the rain water in a barrel the high school art students will decorate. We have donations from the community for dirt and seeds. We are using recycled objects for plotting. Students will also create a composting bucket using recycled items.
