My students are eager to learn the Spanish language but often become self conscious to speak the language because they need more practice with pronunciation. My objective is to build confidence in my students by exposing them to a variety of online video clips and podcasts that integrate with the Google G-Suite for Education platform. I envision setting up a listening station in the classroom so students will have more frequent access to listening activities (particularly useful if they didn't get it the first time in a whole class setting) and will be able to record their voice, play it back and refine their speech With large class sizes, a listening station gives students who are developing their language skills at different paces, the opportunity to hone their skills in a smaller group setting. Students will be able to watch videos on culture, news clips, historical documentaries, music videos and answer questions about the videos. Students can also type what they hear and adjust/correct mistakes. Finally, students will be able to access applications that allow students to record their voice, play back and adjust to perfect their pronunciation. For students of the International Baccalaureate Program, they will have more frequent access to a variety of dialects to better prepare them for the listening component of their IB External exam, improving their scores.
