My students want to take their music production and editing to the next level. In our music technology class, we explore various topics with music production using professional level software and equipment. One day student asked, can we record a music video to go with our song? My immediate answer was yes. However I realized that we did not have a camera. We tried phone videos but felt the quality was lacking. I asked the students to research affordable starter cameras that could help us. Once the idea of being able to record videos and integrate music became a possible reality, my students' ideas began to flow. Youtube videos, web series, Vlogs, short films, the possibilities seemed endless. We also discovered our music production software imported video to track music and sounds with the video. We are so excited about these possibilities, however we just don't have the funds right now to purchase the camera. We hope we can get the camera to add a new level of content creation to our program.
