We will use this non-fiction novel to study author's craft in informational writing. Students will learn how and why the author uses certain events and details to present a point of view. By reading about people and events in our world, it gives it a personal touch to what kids' interests are. We want to create a classroom library that mirrors their identity in the world. Students will attach learning to real-life situations of historical events as they investigate the details the author chooses to teach central idea. Students will also analyze how an author introduces specific individuals and events to emphasize details in the passages.

About my class
