Healthy students learn better! Just a few of the health services provided by the Registered Nurse include medical and dental examinations and different health screenings such as growth, vision, hearing, and scoliosis. Nursing services include the treatment of acute and chronic conditions, first aid, daily medication administration, health counseling, health promotion and emergency care. The nurse and nursing assistant support the students success by providing health care through assessment, intervention, and follow-up for all the children in the school setting. The school nurse addresses the physical, mental, emotional, and social health needs of students and supports their achievement in the learning process. The donation that is provided will go to great use in helping our students become healthier individuals. Our school has many asthma students and children that already have high blood pressure at such a young age. Many of these children are not being taken care of at home due to a lack of support and education. By having the tools to help with assessments I am able to monitor these children more appropriately and I actually feel like I can make a small difference with my knowledge and care. I love our students! Thank you!
