I currently have a very traditional classroom. Nineteen desks and chairs that all look alike; for nineteen students that have different needs. Throughout this school year, I've witnessed a majority of my students struggle to sit in one spot, and this has been hindering their academics. I want to provide my students with flexible seating options to optimize their focus, stamina, and their learning. I would like to remove my traditional desks and transform my classroom into a room that is inviting and individualized for my students. Included in this project are saucer chairs, lap desks, trays, markerboards, etc. My hope is that students will come in each day and pick out a seat and desk option that best suits their needs in being successful.
