My students live in a major city, and few, if any have had the chance to experience farm animals up close. Our Animals 2x2 science unit allows us to compare and contrast different species, but not to allow us to observe an entire life cycle! Donations to my project will improve engagement and focus my students' energy on an important area of science and life. Students are curious and intrigued by animal life. The incubator and materials that support close observation of developing chicks will help students understand the health and growth of embryos. For 28 days, the class will take daily measurements of the eggs (weighing each egg over time), monitored growth through a candler, make sure the eggs are rotated and kept at the temperature and humidity the eggs need to grow ducklings inside. We DO have a home on a farm for these ducks we will hatch. QUACK QUACK!
