With these new books, my kindergarteners will increase their understanding of themselves and others. Diverse literature reflects aspects of their own lives and fosters connections to the lives of others. The value of all people will be affirmed and expanded using an anti-bias framework. Your donation will support the use of diverse literature to improve social interactions and relationships, positively impacting learning. This library includes topics including emotional literacy, mindfulness, compassion, cultures and languages, growth mindset and inclusion. These books will be read aloud during remote learning and/or in person with opportunities for students to have rich discussions. My students will share their creative literature responses through art, writing, speaking, and acting on Seesaw and/or in person. A culturally responsive approach will be used to help students develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, while promoting inclusivity and kindness.
