I would like our students to have access to a water bottle refill station. We do have water fountains around the school, but the very hard water has a taste the kids don't like. Many kids end up buying plastic, single-use water bottles from outside stores. I would like to help these kids spend less and reduce the use of plastic water bottles to help the environment. The Department of Education periodically releases the water quality report and our water fountains have small traces of lead! We can hydrate our students and, at the same time, help lead not be a factor that gives our students a poor quality of life. It is very unfair that low socioeconomic areas have this issue and it is swept under the rug. Please help me help my students! They do not deserve water that is contaminated.
