My project is focusing on all areas of development. Students in my classroom learn best when they are calm and ready to receive instruction. Specific teaching of social emotional skills is critical in each child's development. In today's classrooms, many decision-makers forget about the importance of social emotional skills. My project will reach beyond letters and numbers and help these students learn basic relationship skills. You will find us dressing up for career role-playing, calming down with sensory tubes or working through our feelings through social emotional language activities on a daily basis. My students learn best through active engagement. These materials will create an active learning environment that will prepare the students for their future one day and one skill at a time.
