Many of my students live in a neighborhood that does not have access to affordable, convenient, fresh produce, so we are learning to grow our own at school with the help of the books and tools on this list! The Young Gardeners Program aims to raise the next generation of urban farmers in North Philadelphia to connect students to the joy of growing their own food. The materials on this list will help me build a beautiful, functional classroom space for students grades K-7 and will help my students have hands-on experiences in the garden all year.
