When a teaching conference comes to my home town of Orlando, the inner lifelong learner in me gets excited and sets a goal to attend! By attending the Get Your Teach On conference, I am eager to learn research-based lesson planning strategies that will engage my students. I'll be able to attend specific sessions meant for 4th grade teachers like me to collaborate and share student engagement ideas. Last, from photos I've seen of GYTO conferences on social media, there's a positivity and a passion for teaching that, because I've taught for 18 years, I think will renew my spirit! I am looking forward to the inspiration and collective purpose of being surrounded by fellow teachers who become "summer students" who want to improve their positive impact on children. Teaching is hard work and heart work. Part of being an effective teacher is being a curious, lifelong learner, and attending the Get Your Teach On conference will help me achieve that!
