The majority of my students have worked hard the past semester practicing their letter sounds and letter recognition skills. I'm so proud of how far they've come. I want to use the opportunity this upcoming semester to provide more rigorous learning in my classroom. In order to do that I feel that my students would best benefit from further writing instruction. My students have started working on sight words but I want to further that by including the introduction of labeling, sentence writing, and drawing into my day to day instruction. The teaching easel will be used daily in order to reinforce concepts of writing as well as interactive learning. I want my students to be able to gain more knowledge and further their writing skills throughout this next semester before moving onto first grade. It is a vital skill that they will need for the rest of their lives. These materials will help me as a teacher to better further their expanding knowledge of writing. The journals will help provide a begging stepping stone for my students to start their writing journeys as well as help enrich their minds on the importance of writing.
