My kiddos are the best and they deserve up-to-date technology like all other students in 2020! When teaching children with learning disabilities, interactive lessons and activities are so important because they keep the students engaged. We work together on the interactive whiteboard for every subject, as well as with our required adaptive curriculum. One of these Chromebooks would be used to replace the existing computer attached to our interactive whiteboard because it is out-of-date and can leave my students frustrated and disappointed. The remaining Chromebooks would be used to replace two student computers that are also too old to be updated, as well as provide two more; one to replace my assistant's pc for training, email, and signing in. Students could use these computers for logging in to individual accounts and doing independent work, which tracks and provides valuable data for IEP meetings and annual goal writing. Replacing our iPad with one that has an Apple pencil will help our students with dysgraphia to work on practicing their alphabet, name, and personal information with ease. Other educational apps could be downloaded as well. All of these items could be used for collaborative educationals purposes, as well as individual learning and assessments. There are countless ways to incorporate technology into the classroom so that the outside world can be brought right to my students in a way that is engaging, exciting, and motivating. I am passionate about utilizing technology in the classroom and cannot wait to be equipped with the necessary materials so that my students can reach their maximum potential!
