Currently, our school has a stationary computer lab and mobile laptop cart with 25 laptops. Teachers can sign up for time slots in the computer lab or can request the laptop cart for use in their classroom. We do not currently have any tablets or other mobile devices. I would like to change this to benefit our students and broaden the resources available for our teachers. I would like to help our school get 10 tablets for our students! While many of our students have cell phones, hardly any of them have access to a tablet. Getting this technology would expose our students to a new technology that they could become familiar with. It would also allow our teachers to tap into the many applications that serve as supplemental instruction. Gamification (learning through playing games) is all the rage in education these days. Implementing this can only be done if a school has the technology needed to use it. Getting this new technology would open doors to using gaming in our classrooms which could lead to greater classroom engagement, which benefits teachers and students alike.
