Spheros for education is a new trend in education for students to learn to create and code at the same time! Teachers will provide Spheros for educational lessons to students that are tied to common core standards to spark creativity in project and problem based learning experiences. For example, through the Sphero lessons students can create a city from the materials of choice, and code the Sphero mini to drive through the city accurately(problem based learning). Coding with Spheros will make an amazing impact on student achievement, literacy, and equitable experiences for inner city Middle School students. These higher order task using Sphero minis involve reading, problem solving, STEM, and coding within a lesson. We believe the opportunity for students to engage in authentic and real life experiences that involve application of the skills learn will spark more STEM interest for all students. This Sphero minis kit will aid minority students in enhancing their expertise in coding, programming, or engineering.
