This is a very special group of students. They come from many different backgrounds, have different challenges, and many different experiences and hardships. I have learned so much from them. They value their lives and a good education. We are like a family. We laugh, joke, cry, and learn together as a single group. Though it is sometimes challenging with the language barrier, we make it possible to see eye-to-eye. I try my best to create a comfortable, safe, and loving environment for my students. These kids enter the door each morning, leaving behind different challenges for a day. They're here to learn and to create a better life for themselves. We have a high population of ESL students, and many more challenges that we face. But we stick with it and work together to learn what we need to succeed.
