These books will help my classroom continue to be an engaging environment where students have the opportunity to explore new worlds and the lives of others through books. Through these copies of Maus 1 and the unit they will be a part of, students will have another perspective of the Holocaust through a graphic novel. I plan to use this as an opportunity to teach them about genres and how they can overlap and how we as writers can be creative in our own storytelling process. They will also learn to examine how genres and text formats can reveal different historical and cultural perspectives and motivations for writing and telling our own stories. These books will be used year after year, so your donation will continue to have an impact for as long as the spines of the books hold!
