StarBase Hawaii provides learning experiences in technology in a hands on, interactive setting. Students will conduct experiments, activities, and simulations that will enrich their learning in STEM related skills. StarBase Hawaii's hands on educational experience cannot be duplicated in a traditional classroom setting. The exposure to this creative curriculum allows students to explore science and engineering concepts and problem solve using their critical thinking and communication skills. StarBase Hawaii is aligned to the NGSS and National Technology, and common core standards. Over the years, my grade five students have benefited greatly from attending StarBase Hawaii. This is the first year transportation costs are not covered, thus my students will not be able to afford to pay for the high cost of bus transportation.
