My students are open and ready to learn. Math concepts build upon one another. The manipulative will help to lay a good foundation to build upon as they grow and learn. Ten frames, number lines, and connecting cubes all serve to give students different visual representations of how numbers relate to each other and how they can be used to describe different quantities. Geometric shapes can be recognized in everyday objects. Learning to Compose and decompose geometric shapes can help students see them in their surroundings easily. It is also good for students to learn real-world skills such as how to count money. Awareness of the value of money may help to reinforce place value concepts.
