Most of my students come from low income families. Because of this, many of my students do not have the funds for books. We are starting a non-fiction book project. Students will read a biography book and do a novel study on the person they read about. Students will also be doing literature circles. We will be using several of the books for this. Allowing my students to have access to these books will not only greatly influence their learning on the topic, but it will help them to learn to love reading. Many of the non-fiction books requested on this project are huge influential people and therefore students ask questions. I cannot wait to have fun with this project in the classroom!
