All of the books I am requesting go with a literacy program that I am planning on implementing during speech language therapy with my preschool through 3rd grader language groups. I have chosen four books per month that have themes reflecting the seasons and holidays of each month. For each of these books I have prepared comprehension questions, narrative retell visuals, a Picture Exchange Communication System with vocabulary from each book, as well as other activities that can be modified based on each student's strengths and weaknesses. My goal is to instill a love for learning and reading in these early learners no matter what their reading or language level is. Many of student's goals include answering comprehension questions, retelling a story, and having collaborative discussions with peers. This literacy program, with these books I have requested for, will allow me to effectively target these goals, in an engaging way!
