These fetal pig specimens will provide an opportunity for practical learning. Students will be able to directly see how arteries, veins, and nerves connect to organs in different parts of the body. Instead of just learning about the world through textbooks or powerpoint slides, my students will be able to explore how the body is organized directly for themselves. It is my hope that this experience will help them gain a healthy appreciation of how scientific experiments are carried out to find answers on how the natural and physical world works. Students will gain meaningful and invaluable lab experience, gaining skills such as lab preparation, lab cleanup, careful use of chemicals and lab tools, that will serve them well as they pursue careers in the research and medical fields. We also need quality gloves.
