I am the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher in Boone County, WV. I currently service 14 students each month, 10 of those students use hearing devices, such as hearing aids. Batteries run dead quickly and many of my students do not have the means to continuously purchase them. Without their devices, they miss out on what other kids hear. I have been purchasing batteries as I can, however, this has created a hardship on myself and my students. Sometimes I have to wait until payday, and that may mean a week or more without access to their education. I would like to have batteries on hand, to immediately replace them as they run dead. This way, students do not go one minute without access to the same education that hearing students receive.
