We use them in various ways. Students use them for self evaluation -- its an easy quick way for students to be able to watch their performances/practices and see what they need to work on. We use them for music to go with our performances/projects in class. I have my 8th graders do screenplay projects, where they write screenplay and then film them. Our current iPads are no longer being updated by the district. When the update notification comes up, that means that the iPad can no longer be used. Only 10 of our 25 iPads can be used by the students. We don't know how much longer they will be in use and we already don't have enough for all of our project groups. The other day, I had a group filming their screenplay and when they came back the next day, the iPad was no longer active. They lost all of their work and had to grab a new one that another group had already finished with.
