Sensory Safe will allow for students in my classroom to be able to address needs for both hands on as well as movement opportunities. Safety being the key word for the upcoming school year becomes an area of concern as this policy leans towards individual areas for students. With individual spots come more challenges for students that need breaks for both movement and sensory purposes. Having individual sensory and movement materials that can be used within specific spaces, will allow for my students to remain engaged, motivated and address their focus needs. These materials can be sanitized and cleaned daily as well as rotated out based on the needs of my students. Having these materials at their seats will allow for their focus to increase as well as their ability to remain engaged in the learning following the new, important safety guidelines. If learning does occur at home, these supplies can be sent home with students to use just as they would within the classroom. Having the same opportunities, no matter where the learning takes place is critical for my students' success.
