My students will use these books during independent literacy. During independent literacy, students are able to select books that appeal to them from our classroom library. Right now, many of our books are outdated, and do not reflect the diversity in our classroom. Many students have a hard time finding books that excited them in our library. They often reread, and reread books because they aren't sure what else to read. This third grade class needs access to better books that will help them to love reading! Access to high quality, engaging books will help students become excited about reading.
