My 7th-grade students are more engaged when they are studying something that interests them. They are very interested in forensic science! It is key to pick something that will teach them the standards outlined in 7th grade while also giving them projects that hook them and engage them. My students do well when they're invested and engaged in what we are learning. They've learned about cells, organelles, and DNA. They've learned about the scientific method. I think having this forensics kit would be such an engaging way to continue learning about DNA and following the scientific method to solve a "crime."
