It's important to develop a strong egg beater (kick for treading water) in the sport of water polo. You may not know this but water polo is played in a pool that is over seven feet deep! Too deep to touch the bottom. So,athletes must float upright with what is called an egg beater kick. With varying weights of medicine balls my students will be able to achieve this in baby steps. Starting with a six pound medicine ball as a freshman students will work their way up to the fifteen pound medicine ball. The only way to develop competitive passing and shooting skills is by first developing a strong egg beater.
