These Chromebooks will help my students in my Robotics class design their robots and create computer programs to make their robots perform basic and advanced maneuvers. Designing and programming a robot form the foundation of learning in every robotics class. Currently, my robotics class of 25 students are sharing on 7 very old and slow computers. The programs run too slow and sometimes they hang. The batteries of these laptops are too old that the laptops need to be charged frequently during class. These inconveniences can be too frustrating to students that sometimes they lose interest in learning and just give up. These additional laptops will result to a more independent learning. Because of limited resources, the students have to be in groups of three or four in order to share laptops. This set up oftentimes reduces some students to mere spectator as their group mate does the computer work and they watch. With these additional Chromebooks, more students will have access to computers and will result into greater learning in programming and higher computer literacy in general.
