8th grade students will all read this book in class to deepen their understanding of the Revolutionary War, strengthen their vocabulary, improve their ability to find and cite text evidence for their analysis and answers, and to wrestle with the complex themes of war, becoming your own person, choosing sides, and growing up. The students will be asked to read, respond to, and discuss the book culminating in an individual project as well as a unit test. This unit helps prepare them with the citation skills they will need to complete their National History Day Project 2020 as well. Thank you!
