As a staff member at a PreK-3 through 5th grade school, I wish to set up a therapeutic classroom where I can engage traumatized children in a classroom rich with materials which can help them heal so they can concentrate better in school and be confident in their ability to control their anger and emotions. I need supplies to use play therapy and trauma systems therapy to engage children and help them talk about their struggles and emotions. Requested materials include Sorting Shapes Cupcakes, an African-American family play set, a Seasons All-In-One Dollhouse, and a Pretend Play Breakfast set. When children are able to express and talk about their emotions, feelings, and past trauma, they can begin to learn how to react appropriately, thus decreasing their impulsive behaviors. When they can control their feelings and work through their troubled emotions, they can be better students and have more friends. Children can also learn to talk abut their emotions so they can better express themselves.
