Firstinspires.org provides LEGO bricks, programming tools as well as kits which provides engaging and hands-on experience in which to explore STEM concepts. Our district currently has robotic clubs located in the High School and Middle school. It would be a natural progression to start a club in the Elementary School. By starting earlier we are raising the bar for our students. The enthusiasm shown by the high turnout is exciting. The requested materials include LEGO bricks, programming tools, and supporting lesson plans. This year's challenge is to design and construct a growing modern city. Some of the real-world problems they will face are accessibility, sustainability, and stability. These programs are invaluable because they teach team building, creativity, problem-solving, collaboration, and competition. These skills can translate to their overall education and everyday life. Providing these materials will provide a positive experience for our young students.
