As many students are unable to bring in writing supplies and the materials needed to work on reading comprehension and writing strategies, I would love to be able to provide those materials to my students for use in the classroom. Small things can make such a big difference! I would love for my students to be able to express themselves and to appreciate reading and writing in creative ways without worrying about not having the needed highlighter or a pencil. We often work on annotating literature or reading comprehension strategies which require highlighters. Additionally, we write a lot. My students know that in order to become better writers, they need to write every day. I love to see their progress throughout the year and they make me proud with the creative projects that they make based on the novels that we have read.
